Abracs Dry Diamond Core Bits are cylindrical, rim-type cutters designed to bore clean holes through masonry, concrete, block, brick, natural stone and similar construction materials without the need for coolant. Their primary use is to create accurate service penetrations for plumbing, electrical conduit, ventilation ducts and instrumentation runs where dry drilling is necessary on site.

Each core bit consists of industrial diamond grit in a sintered metal-bond segment brazed onto a high‑strength steel tube. The steel body is heat treated and typically finished with a corrosion‑resistant phosphate or zinc coating to resist site conditions. Abracs manufacture under recognised quality systems and the bits are produced to comply with applicable EN/ISO/BS abrasive tool safety standards (for example EN 13236 where relevant) and quality management procedures such as ISO 9001. They are supplied with a segmented rim for efficient dust clearance and reduced loading during dry operation.

These bits are available with common arbor thread options to suit standard core drill spindles and adaptors, for example M16 and ½" BSP variants used across European and UK drilling equipment. The head form is a cylindrical core with segmented diamond rim; drive is arbor mounted rather than keyed, so secure fitment to the drill spindle or adaptor is required. Because they are specified for dry cutting, correct feed rates, intermittent drilling and appropriate extraction are important to avoid overheating and to prolong segment life.

Typical users include building contractors, M&E installers, utilities and specialist trade operatives who need repeatable, circular holes for sleeving and service passes. The segmented diamond bond offers rapid cutting through abrasive masonry while reducing chipping on brittle finishes, and the sintered diamond grade provides a good balance between cut speed and segment wear.
