This is a 13/16" die stock — a hand-held die holder designed to carry round (split) dies for cutting or repairing external threads on rods, studding and bolts. The primary use is to secure a 13/16" round die so that an operator can hand-cut or chase imperial threads (or restore worn threads) reliably and with controlled alignment.

The die stock body is manufactured from forged carbon steel and heat-treated for strength; the clamping components and set screw are made from hardened alloy tool steel to resist wear. The finished surfaces are given a black phosphate (or black oxide) treatment to improve corrosion resistance and reduce galling during use. The holder accepts 13/16" round dies to standard dimensions and is compatible with HSS (High Speed Steel) split dies and die nuts made to ISO, DIN and relevant British standards (for example Whitworth/BSW and BSF forms where applicable). Thread form and pitch will depend on the specific die fitted — the stock itself is neutral and will take imperial external-thread dies such as UNC/UNF, BSW/BSF or other 13/16" imperial forms provided the die conforms to recognised DIN/ISO/BS sizes.

The die stock features a machined centre opening and a captive retaining screw for secure clamping of the die. Two handles provide leverage and control for hand-winding; the ergonomic knurled finish improves grip when applying torque. The central screw is accessible for quick die changes and for setting the slight closing or opening required when chasing or finishing a thread.
