This 1/2" Garden Hose Mender is a straight hose joiner designed to repair or extend 1/2" nominal bore garden hose quickly and securely. It is used to splice two lengths of flexible hose together where a tear or leak has occurred, or to make a continuous run when additional hose length is required. The simple barbed design makes it suitable for field repairs with no special tools beyond standard hose clips.

The mender is machined from dezincification‑resistant (DZR) brass, CW617N grade, manufactured to BS EN 12164/12165 material standards and supplied with a bright nickel‑plated finish to improve corrosion resistance in outdoor and wet environments. Each end of the fitting features a circumferential barb sized for a 1/2" (approx. 12.7 mm) internal bore hose. There are no screw threads or drive features on the body; retention is achieved by fitting suitable worm‑drive or jubilee hose clips over the hose onto the barbs.

Typical applications include domestic garden watering, greenhouse and allotment irrigation, temporary site water feeds for builders or landscapers, camping and caravan water lines, and small‑scale agricultural or horticultural installations.
