The bypass cutting action delivers a scissor-like slice that preserves plant health, making these secateurs ideal for pruning live wood, roses, fruit trees and vine work.

The cutting blade is manufactured from SK5 high-carbon steel (approximately equivalent to AISI 1095), heat-treated and hardened to provide a durable cutting edge (typical hardness HRC 58–62). The blade carries a PTFE non-stick finish to reduce sap build-up and improve corrosion resistance. The counter blade is also hardened steel and the central pivot is an adjustable, zinc-plated bolt allowing tension adjustment and straightforward maintenance. A coil spring provides reliable opening action and a patented safety catch secures the tool closed for safe storage. Handles are formed from pressed steel with a cushioned thermoplastic rubber (TPR) soft-grip overmould to reduce hand fatigue and improve grip in wet conditions.
