The Carbide Tipped Pocket Scriber 150mm is a compact hand scribing tool designed for accurately marking lines on metal, plastic, glass and other hard materials during layout, fabrication and inspection work. Its primary use is to provide a precise, durable line for follow-up cutting, drilling or welding operations where a fine, hard-wearing point is required.

Technically, the scriber features a tungsten carbide (cemented carbide) tip, produced to recognised carbide material standards (see ISO 4957 for cemented carbides), brazed to a stainless steel shaft. The shaft is manufactured from stainless material conforming to general EN 10088 specifications (commonly supplied to AISI 304/A2-equivalent grades) and finished with a satin/chrome finish to resist corrosion and reduce glare. The overall length is 150mm for compact portability. Thread type, head type and drive type are not applicable to this product, as it is a single-point hand marking tool.

Typical applications include engineering layout, sheet-metal work, toolroom marking, automotive bodywork set-out, electrical enclosure marking and general workshop use. The carbide tip holds a very sharp point and maintains it far longer than hardened steel scribes, making it particularly suitable for repeated marking on hardened steels, stainless materials and abrasive surfaces where conventional scribes blunt quickly. It is equally useful for scribing on non-ferrous metals, ceramics and glass where a consistently fine line is required.
