Its primary use is indoor and sheltered outdoor cleaning where a softer bristle is required to avoid marking or scratching — for example on tiled floors, workbenches, conservatory decking and delicate stone finishes.

The bristles are natural coir (coconut fibre), selected for a balance of flexibility and abrasion that picks up dust and small particles without aggressive scratching. The block is manufactured from kiln‑dried beech with a clear varnish finish to reduce moisture ingress and splintering. A zinc‑plated steel ferrule with a standard 7/8" BSP (approx. 21.5mm) female threaded socket accepts the common timber and metal broom handles used across the UK; there is no drive mechanism other than the threaded handle connection.
