A Tap Connector 1" BSP is a threaded plumbing fitting used to join a 1-inch British Standard Pipe (BSP) threaded tap or spigot to a hose, appliance inlet or flexible connector. Its primary use is to provide a watertight interface between standard BSP tap threads and hose fittings used in garden watering, external taps, washing machines, pressure washers and temporary plumbing connections.

This connector is machined from dezincification-resistant brass (commonly specified to EN 12164/CW602N) and is supplied with a corrosion-resistant finish — typically natural brass or chrome plating for enhanced wear and environmental protection. The thread form is 1" BSP (parallel, BSPP) to ISO 228-1, the standard used for non-pressure-sealing pipe threads; sealing is achieved by an internal EPDM rubber washer rather than by thread taper. There is no drive or head type involved: the connector is a screw-on coupling that engages a 1" BSP male tap thread and can be tightened by hand or with a suitable spanner on the hex section where provided.
