The 14mm x 2 HSS dienut is an external metric die designed to cut or repair M14 x 2 threads (14 mm nominal diameter with a 2.0 mm fine pitch). It is supplied as a round die (commonly referred to as a “dienut”) for use in standard die stocks or holders and is intended for manual and light machine threading operations where accurate ISO‑metric threads are required.

This dienut is manufactured from M2 high speed steel (HSS) and is ground to size with a bright finish to provide precise thread form and good wear resistance. The thread form conforms to ISO metric profile requirements (ISO 68‑1) and is compatible with standard thread tolerances as defined in ISO 261 / ISO 965 and BS 3643 metric specifications; it is also suitable for use where DIN metric thread standards are applied. The tool produces an external metric thread to match ISO/BS metric fasteners and will run in a standard M14 die holder. As a cutting tool rather than a threaded fastener, head and drive types are not applicable.

Typical applications include on‑site maintenance, machine repair, fabrication and assembly tasks where external threads need to be cut or restored. Common industries are automotive and plant maintenance, general engineering workshops, metal fabrication, and MRO departments. The die is suitable for cutting threads in mild and alloy steels, brass, aluminium and many non‑ferrous alloys; for stainless steels and hard alloys use slow speeds, ample cutting fluid and appropriate HSS or coated tooling practice.
