This is a 28 mm, 6-point socket designed for use with 1/2" drive hand tools. Its primary purpose is to apply torque to hexagonal (hex) fasteners in general maintenance, mechanical and assembly work where a robust connection between tool and fastener is required. The internal 6-point profile distributes load across the flats of the nut or bolt to reduce rounding and allow higher torque transfer than 12-point equivalents.
