This product is an 8 mm × 1.25 right‑hand split die manufactured from high speed steel (HSS), designed for cutting, repairing and restoring external metric threads on bars, rods and studs. Its primary use is producing M8 × 1.25 threads to the ISO metric thread form for general engineering and maintenance work, and it is intended for use in a compatible round die stock (T‑handle or lever die holder).

The die is made from M2 grade high speed steel, ground to a sharp cutting profile and supplied in the common round split‑die format with a circumferential split and an adjustment screw to permit slight size correction or thread chasing. Thread form and pitch conform to ISO metric thread standards (ISO 68‑1 / ISO 965) and are compatible with DIN 13 and BS 3643 metric tolerances; the tool produces a right‑hand M8 thread with 1.25 mm pitch. As a cutting tool rather than a coated fastener, the finish is a bright ground HSS surface; cutting lubricant is recommended when machining tougher materials.

It is not a stainless product itself, so for corrosive environments a specialist coated or stainless option should be considered.
