This product is a 6 mm x 1.0 right‑hand split die manufactured from high speed steel (HSS) and supplied in a 13/16" diameter die body. It is used to cut or restore external metric threads (M6 x 1.0) on round bar, studs and shafts, and is intended for use in a compatible die stock or holder that accepts a 13/16" die body. The split design allows fine adjustment of the cutting diameter for chasing damaged threads or producing a controlled fit.

The die is produced from HSS (commonly M2 grade) that has been heat treated and ground to provide a durable cutting edge and good hot hardness for hand and light machine use. The thread form produced is ISO metric (fundamental profile as per ISO 68‑1) with standard M6 pitch. The product is manufactured to metric thread tolerances consistent with ISO 261 / ISO 965 and DIN 13 practice for external threads. As a split die it is normally used in a round die holder and secured with the holder’s set screws; no hex head or drive feature is required on the die itself.

Typical applications include on‑site maintenance and repair, engineering workshops, automotive and motorcycle thread repairs, fabrication shops and general machine shop use where threads must be cut or reconditioned quickly. The HSS construction allows cutting of mild steel, alloy steel, brass, aluminium and other common engineering materials; stainless steels can be chased but require appropriate cutting oils and slower feed.
